Our Pastor

It was during revival services in August, 1970 when Reverend McCambry accepted Christ as his personal savior, and was baptized and fellowshipped into the Jehovah Baptist Church in Grantville, Georgia.

Reverend McCambry, being obedient to the call of God on his life to preach the life changing Gospel of Jesus Christ, preached his initial sermon in January 2000.  Reverend McCambry was ordained in April 2001 at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia under the leadership of Reverend James H. Sims, Jr.

Pastor McCambry is a remarkable example of what faith in God can do.  Having been raised in a military family under strict discipline and peer pressure, it seemed as if Reverend McCambry would become another statistic.  He left high school (by completing the GED) when he was in the Tenth Grade; joined the Air Force, but was discharged after two months with an injury.  He then commenced living a life that was destined for failure.  Nevertheless, with the help of God, his faithful parents, the church and an inner determination he turned his life around.

Reverend McCambry has earned college credits from Pace University in New York and from Beulah Heights Bible College in Atlanta, Georgia.

Reverend McCambry served as the Youth Pastor at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia for two years; taught Sunday school, and initiated and implemented the church’s first Prison Ministry.

On Sunday, September 7, 2003 Reverend McCambry was installed as the new Pastor of Greater Jehovah Baptist Church in Grantville, Georgia.  Since assuming the pastorate of Greater Jehovah the church has experienced phenomenal growth. Under his leadership, the church membership has created a new mission/vision statement, reconstructed and expanded ministries, upgraded the church lighting, pews, and parking lot.

God has graciously blessed the church in growth, improved facilities, and a continual vision for souls.  Pastor McCambry is loved and appreciated as a visionary whose goal in life is to help make the world a better place to live in.  With a strong passion for God, humor, practical insight, and a unique “down home” approach, Reverend McCambry will deliver refreshing insights that will challenge, strengthen, and encourage you.
